Reel Clamps

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE I NEED?

The listing for each reel brand (Penn, Shimano, etc.) contains a size chart that lists the reel clamp for your particular reel model. If you do not see your reel model in the size chart please contact us at seahalt@seahalt.com. We are always expanding our fitment, and once we have measured the center distance from the mounting studs on your reel, it is likely that we already have one that fits your reel.

DOES MY REEL CLAMP COME WITH HARDWARE?

Most of our customers reuse the hardware that they already have. However, if you misplace your hardware, want to upgrade, or your reel did not come with a clamp we will be stocking most hardware in the coming months. If we do not have the hardware you need please email us and we will help you find what you need.

Anchors

WHAT MAKES SEA HALT™ ANCHORS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ANCHORS?

Have you ever been out on the water and nearly lost an anchor because you could not get it loose? Even experienced boaters struggle with this problem regularly. In fact, numerous deaths occur annually when boaters try to retrieve a fouled anchor, or the anchor is simply left behind, and that is money out of your pocket, and a fun day ruined. Sea Halt™ anchors are designed to release when they are stuck on debris or any structure in any body of water. You simply move your boat directly over the anchor, remove any slack, tie off, and then drive forward or reel in with your winch. When enough effort is applied, the anchor will hinge at the shank and your anchor will be free. The best part is that you can reset it once it’s back on the boat by replacing the shear pin, which is easily replaced without tools within seconds. Two additional shear pins are conveniently stored as spares on the anchor.

HOW MUCH FORCE CAN THE ANCHOR HANDLE WHILE STILL REMAINING SECURE?

The way the pivot is designed the full load of your vessel is never placed on the hinging mechanism, so it can still provide similar hold as traditional anchors. The anchor has been tested for many hours, in various environments without fail, including in very strong currents.

HOW MUCH VERTICAL PRESSURE DOES THE SEA HALT™ ANCHOR REQUIRE BEFORE IT RELEASES?

Sea Halt™ offers two sizes of anchors, and each anchor has 3 holes to place the shear pin in for varying needs.

The smallest anchor (16 lb.) takes a minimum of 170 pounds and a maximum of 540 pounds of vertical pressure to release when the anchor has been fouled. There are four hole configurations to adjust the breaking strength of the pin depending on the size and weight of your vessel.

The largest anchor (26 lb.) takes a minimum of 225 pounds and a maximum of 900 pounds of vertical pressure to release when the anchor has been fouled. There are six hole configurations to adjust the breaking strength of the pin depending on the size and weight of your vessel.

Every anchor also comes with a holding pin that can easily be placed without the use of tools. This holding pin is recommended when anchoring overnight or when anchoring in extreme weather conditions.

WHAT ARE SEA HALT™ ANCHORS MADE OF?

Our anchors are all made out of 316 stainless steel, and electropolished for maximum corrosion resistance. Designed, built and assembled in the USA.
